They travelled down a huge variety of genres, sub genres, grooves, beats and baselines and then some. At their most extreme they played unmixed and for the most part un-cut up Beethoven’s 5th and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Belgian hoover house, electro, funk, hip hop and a smattering of their own classics in between a plethora of rooty house and electronic grooves amundo that they are so well know for. They consumed copious amounts of vodka and cranberry juice, cut mids, highs and used the mic in a mentalist and ear crunching fashion that left the crowd gasping for more.

The night started rocking at 8.30 and was still rocking by 4.30 in the morning. This was no time for warm ups and minimal shoe gazing. This was a night of unbridled hands in the air jump up and boogie ooggie oogie all night long till you drop kinda party that Big In Ibiza is gaining a huge reputation for. Basement Jaxx wound it up to 11 and even they were smiling by the end of their unique but immensely fun 2 hours of journeying around the super sonics of electronic parting of the highest order. Full, phatt, fun.

Directed by James Frost, OK Go and Syyn Labs and produced by Shirley Moyers this is the official video for “This Too Shall Pass” taken from their album “Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky”. Filmed in a two story warehouse, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA, what looks like a giant game of Mousetrap affectionately called “The Machine” was painstakingly designed and built by the band, along with members of Syyn Labs (http://syynlabs.com/) over the course of several months. OK Go – This Too Shall Pass – RGM version

Damian Kulash Jr. lead singer and guitarist of OK Go said this about their previous video for “Here It Goes Again”,

“MY band is famous for music videos. We direct them ourselves or with the help of friends, we shoot them on shoestring budgets and, like our songs, albums and concerts, we see them as creative works and not as our record company’s marketing tool. In 2006 we made a video of us dancing on treadmills for our song “Here It Goes Again.” We shot it at my sister’s house without telling EMI, our record company, and posted it on the fledgling YouTube without EMI’s permission. Technically, this put us afoul of our contract, since we need our record company’s approval to distribute copies of the songs that they finance. It also exposed YouTube to all sorts of liability for streaming an EMI recording across the globe. But back then record companies saw videos as advertisements, so if my band wanted to produce them, and if YouTube wanted to help people watch them, EMI wasn’t going to get in the way […] It brought big crowds to our concerts on five continents, and by the time we returned to the studio, 700 shows, one Grammy and nearly three years later, EMI’s ledger had a black number in our column.” Taken from the band’s website… http://www.okgo.net/

Ok Go – Here It Goes Again (The Treadmill Video)

On his first trip abroad, Sean was immediately put on the spot when asked to kiss the beautiful, older Lina. The two went on to shoot 3 days of steamy footage in separate locations around the romantic Spanish city. They both must have won the accolade for the most amount of kisses ever on a music video shoot. The crew even came up with the new phrase Kisses Per Minute (KPM) to describe the action, which was shot in searing heat and the sexual chemistry between Sean and Lina is evident throughout the video.

Arriving on set the originally cast French lead actress called to say she had been stopped by Passport Control leaving Paris and there was no way she’ll make the three day schedule. Time to panic? Yes. The Big In Ibiza crew had no other option but to spend the next few hours manically scouring the city for any beautiful and talented young actress they could find until finally at the 11th hour, the incredibly stunning Lina came to the rescue through a local acting agency. The self proclaimed bohemian had saved a few peoples skin just in time and went on to shoot three days and nights of steamy action in and around Barcelona’s romantic skyline and her stunning features have gone on to become an integral part of a music video

After the three days of intense shooting, Sean and Lina headed down to Barcelona’s exclusive Opium Lounge where after a few drinks in the V.I.P Sean even got the chance to meet his football hero, Ronaldinho who happened to be partying at the table next to them…truly a hot summers night dream come true! A week of sun, sexy video shoots, beautiful women and partying with Brazilian football legends…we don’t think it gets much better than that for your first holiday!
