Radio 1 announce Essential Mix of the year

BBC Radio 1 recently launched an online vote for the listeners who follow the Essential Mix show, which gave them the opportunity to vote for their favourite Essential Mix of 2009.

Once all the votes had been counted, there was a clear winner, Iranian-American progressive house DJ and producer Sharam, who also forms one half of the Grammy award-winning DJ/production duo, Deep Dish alongside his solo work.

Radio 1 are giving listeners the opportunity to listen back to Sharam’s winning mix during the early hours of December 26th, from 0500 – 0700 straight after the special 3 hour Essential Mix featuring Calvin Harris and Pete Tong.
